When standard is not enough.
Linden is your partner for critical mixing and kneading processes. We predominantly build customer-specific systems for demanding materials, from cemented carbide and silicone to energetic masses, wherever standard machines reach their limits.
Engineered from the ground up for your process.
We take proven base series and redesign them, not according to a catalogue but according to your material and your formulation. Feeding, discharge, temperature control and the control system are all developed in-house: our own design engineering, production and final assembly in Marienheide. Every series is available in laboratory and production sizes, proven in the Technical Center and reproducible in production.

These building blocks make up your system.
Recurring technical options that we combine depending on the application. Which of them are useful and available for your machine is something we clarify in the engineering consultation.
ATEX design
Explosion-proof version for dusts and ignitable materials.
Vacuum & degassing
Vacuum processes for void-free discharge and homogeneous results.
Temperature control
Double jacket and heatable/coolable product-contact parts, right down to the tools.
PLC & recipe management
Control system with recipe management, data logging and batch consistency.
Wear protection
Durable surfaces and materials for a long service life.
Special sealing systems
Mechanical seals and special seals on the kneading blade shafts for critical media.
Discharge & emptying
Tilting, discharge screw, bottom discharge or filling/cartridge system.
Ease of cleaning
Mobile mixing trough and simple tool removal for fast cleaning. GMP-compliant version to hygienic design.
Individual drives & speed
Separate drives and infinitely variable tool speed.
Predictive maintenance & remote service
Condition monitoring and early wear detection. Fast remote support and diagnostics.
Examples from our practice.
From the discharge kneader with granulator connection to the 85-tonne double-Z kneader, the largest kneading machine in the world. Three examples show how a base series becomes a custom system.

Discharge kneader with mobile mixing trough and granulator
Discharge kneader (type K III A) with direct granulator connection: from kneading to granulate production without detours, for example for cemented carbide feedstock. Mobile mixing trough for easy cleaning and removal of the mixing tools. Additional design with several temperature control circuits.

Remote-controlled ATEX system
ATEX version with process control system connection and redundant temperature monitoring: remote-controlled for explosive atmospheres and safety-critical processes.

Complete systems
Discharge kneader in pharmaceutical version including material handling before and after the process, batch weighing and labelling. All under specially controlled temperature conditions.
From requirement to system.
A clearly guided path, from the first requirement through to ongoing production.
Clarify requirements
We record material, viscosity, batch size and process parameters and assess feasibility together with you.
Engineering and design
Our engineers design geometry, drives, tools and options to suit your process.
Production and integration
The machines, including their control systems, are manufactured and tested in-house. Necessary subsystems are integrated.
Commissioning and support
Validation in the Technical Center, commissioning, after-sales service and long-term spare parts supply.

Special materials and seals for extreme requirements.
Every custom system needs the right materials. We select materials, seals and surfaces for abrasive media, high temperatures, ATEX environments and FDA, EFSA and GMP requirements.
Explosion protection, food contact and validatable design with minimised dead space.
Durable materials, double-jacket temperature control and mechanical/special sealing systems on the kneading blade shafts.
